Strawberry and White Chocolate Baby Shower Cupcakes

As promised I am back to baking and sharing my recipes with you. Although I have to admit this is from January and I just haven’t got around to putting it up, anyway, it is here now. The story, one of my closest friends here in Berlin is due to give birth, well, any day now so I threw her a little surprise baby shower, which amazingly was kept secret until the day! I could not of possible had a big group of girls, including a pregnant lady over without making cupcakes, my inspirations were her likes and the fact she is having a girl, therefore what do you get? Strawberry and White Chocolate Baby Shower Cupcakes! Here is the recipe:


  •  100g of Flour
  • 100g of Sugar
  • 175g of Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2tsp of Baking Powder
  • 1/4tsp of Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 100g of White Chocolate
  • 75g of Icing Sugar
  • 50ml of Strawberry Syrup
  • Pink and White Hearts to Decorate

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C (Fan Oven) and place your cupcake cases into your cupcake tin
  2. In a bowl sift the sugar and 100g of butter and cream until smooth
  3. Then sift in the flour, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder and mix until crumbly
  4. Then the eggs and whisk until smooth
  5. Then break up the white chocolate into chunks and stir through the mixture
  6. Pour into your cupcake cases evenly
  7. Place into the preheated oven for between 10-12 minutes. You can check if the cupcakes are ready by lightly touching the top to see if it springs back
  8. Get the cupcakes out and allow to cool
  9. Once cool you can then prepare the frosting
  10. Place 75g of butter and the icing sugar into a bowl and cream together until smooth
  11. Then add the strawberry syrup and mix thoroughly
  12. You can then ice your cupcakes either using an piping bag or palette knife
  13. Finally sprinkle with the heart decorations and serve!

These Strawberry and White Chocolate Baby Shower Cupcakes went down a treat, especially with the guest of honour so I would say that makes them a massive success! I truly feel the satisfaction of baking when they are for a special occasion and you get to feel the appreciation of your loved ones. The recipe then always reminds me of that day, a double bonus I say!
